Roll forging is a process where round or flat bar stock is reduced in thickness and increased in length.
Alloy Steel Forged Ring is perormed using two cylindical or semicvlindricalrols, each containing one or more shaped arooves, A heated bar is insered into the rols and when it hits a spotthe rols rotate and the bar isprogressiwely shaped as it is roled through the machine. The piece is then transierred to the next set ofgrooves or turned around and reinsered into thesame arooves. This continues unilthe desired shape and size is achieved. The advantage of this process is there is no fiash and it impats a favorablegrain structure into the workpiece.
